2 Months & 1 Day
Current mood: lonely Category: Life
Well it's been 2 months & 1 day since Bryant's passing. I still find it hard to believe that he's not on this earth with us!!!! I miss you so much Bryant!
This month was a little difficult for me. I was feeling depressed and missed a couple days of work and just stayed home trying to process everything.
We celebrated my birthday without Bryant. Every year for the past 3 or so years my father could come to Phoenix and my brothers, dad & I would go to the drag races in Chandler at Firebird Intl Raceway. We would spend the entire day there on Saturday and then after the races go to the Outback and celebrate my birthday.
This year was a little different. Everybody was missing Bryant. It's still so hard to cope with. What helped us get through it was sharing our memories of Bryant with each other.
Well, this year dad took me, Donovan & Cordell to the Yard House. After we ate dinner we went to the Rhythm Room and listened to some Blues music. Bryant would have loved that! He liked all music types.
On Saturday, we hung out at the race track all day. Bryant liked going to the races. I remebered when he got that connecting rod from Frank Pedregon. **smiles**
I just miss you so much Bryant...

MySpace Posting-February 4, 2008: 1 month & 1 Day
February 4, 2008 - Monday
1 month & 1 day Category: Life
(If you're reading this, you're on my preferred readers list)
It's been a month since we laid my little brother, Bryant to rest. There is not a day that goes by when I do not think of him. He had a big heart. He was caring and had so much love to give.
I have a lot of caring and loving friends and family. THANK YOU so much for your love, support & prayers during this time. I can honestly say that I could not have gotten by this past month without our Lord. He was there for me and still is.
There are days when I feel like I'm going to lose control of my emotions. I miss him and I didn't get to thank him for always being there for my kids and for taking good care of them. He was such a loving Uncle. When I start to feel like I am about to lose control I pray to God and then I calm down and remember that he is at home with the Lord. He is at peace. He is with my Grampa, my Uncle Dennie & all my loved ones who left this earth to be with the Lord.
Words can not describe what I feel. I just take each day one day at a time. I loved my brother so much and I still do. I love my brother Donovan just as much. I thank God each day that I get to spend another day with my family and Donovan and all my loved ones. I pray that God will give me strength each day. I've got to be strong for my kids.
I read in my daily devotional today that we are born "bent away" from the Lord. When we become believers, our Father begins to bend our will and ways back towards him. He may break us by allowing pain into our life and as a result we are driven to Him to surrender. In doing this, we will be more mature and faithful for having walked through trial.
I think this was our Father's way to break me. I can honestly say that when I lived in Kayenta, I would go to church with my Gramma and started to build a personal relationship with the Lord. I moved to New Mexico and somewhere along the way I got lost. When I lost my brother, I came back to the Lord because I felt I had a tremendous amount of pain. Everybody kept telling me to be strong. Well I've been strong and like I said, I could not have gotten through this without His help. Thank you Jesus! Thank you for being there along my side and bringing me back!
I pray each day for strength, guidance, patience, my family, Spiritual Growth and each beautiful day. I just want you all to know that I am doing ok. Like I said, I take each day one day at a time. I have good days and I have bad days, but all in all; I am getting by with the help of prayer and all my loving friends and family.

I cried as I was reading this. I'm so glad you came back to our Lord and Savior. He is such an awesome God and like you, I wouldn't have made it without Him through all of the trials I've been through. I know what you mean about getting very emotional. For quite awhile, I felt like I had shortness of breath each time I thought of how we lost my brother. I was very upset, but I also know God has a time for each one of us. It's very hard to understand it, but in time we begin to understand. I'm just very happy to know now he's in a much better place. I can't wait to see him as well as other loved ones who have gone before us. I also look fwd to seeing you there :). Remain strong and keep trusting God. You were very lucky to have such a great brother who was very involved with your children. What more can you ask for, right?? With love always, PJ

Awesome blog! I'm so glad that you've taken that step of getting your children into a church where they'll not only learn that God is there for them, but to actually get to know Him. You've taken a big step in your life Krisha. It can only get better from here. We'll continue to hold you and your family in prayer, too. Thanks again for your friendship and entrusting your thoughts and heart to me (a preferred reader). God bless!

Wow, Krisha, I still can't believe this. We knew each other since grade school and I feel as though I really knew him. I am glad you and I are still great friends after 17 years of not seeing or talking with one another. I am glad to say that I am glad we have reunited and am always here for you. I can't imagine what you feel or how you feel when you are missing your brother. But, just remember that your brother will always love you and want you to take care of your family, just like how good of a uncle he was. He wants you to be strong for your family. So when days get tough, remember how loving and strong he was for your family, share that same love with your family as if he was giving it. Last and foremost, Lord our Savior, I am so proud that you have decided to turn to him again. With lots of love your dear friend, Elaine

MySpace Post, 01-13-08: A New Year, A New Beginning
January 13, 2008 - Sunday
A New Year, A New Beginning.... Current mood: happy Category: Blogging
(If you're reading this, you're on my preferred list.)
I went to church today for the first time in a couple of years. It was a good feeling to be back in church.
Growing up I went to church with my Grandmother every Sunday morning, evening & Wednesday evening.
In high school I had a great relationship with God. My relationship was growing & I was getting close to the Lord. I was a part of the youth group & I loved going.... I loved my youth paster, Mr. Taggart. I could talk to him about anything that was bothering me.
I moved away and didn't have a youth group to attend and was not able to attend church on a regular basis. Somewhere along the way, I got lost.....
Thanks to my Uncle Aaron, I found a church. I am excited to be going back to church.
Don't get me wrong, I always knew that the Lord wasn't far away. I know that he's there watching over me and my family. I 'm excited to re-build my relationship with the Lord.
Prayer Requests:
Strength, support & comfort for the loss of my loved one for me & my family.
Strength & support to continue to be alcohol free. (It's been 22 days since my last drink)
A closer relationship with the Lord

I miss my baby brother so much. I keep looking at pictures of him and right now all I want is a big bear hug from him. I keep looking at his myspace page & checking the last login date thinking he's visiting my mom and he'll log on from there....
This is still just all overwhelming and so unreal to me. I know that he is in a much better place, I keep telling myself that. I just need help dealing with all of my emotions right now.... I feel like they are all out of control.....
I also know that I need to put God first. Without God, I don't even know where I would be or what state of mind I would be in right now. He has been by my side since Bryant's passing. With the love, prayers & support of friends & family I know I will get through this. It is definately going to take some time........

Losing a loved one....
Category: Life
Losing a loved one is always hard. Well for those of you who don't know, my baby brother, Bryant passed away in his sleep on December 29, 2007. I posted his obituary and the eulogy my brother Donovan & I wrote.
I had a hard time with everything at first but after being with family, praying and putting everything in the Lord's hands, I felt a lot better knowing that he is in a better place. He is at peace, has no worries and is not in any pain. I know that he is not far away. He is in our hearts. He is my kids' guardian angel. We will all see him again.
I love you always Bryant!

Hey Krisha,
I am so sorry to hear about your lil brother. Your right, it's not easy to lose a loved one, especially when it's your sibling. I don't remember your lil brother. But he sure sounds like a cool bro to have. I and my family will keep your family in our prayers. God was there and still is there for us when my lil sis passed. And he will be there for yours. So don't lose faith.

MySpace Posting: Bryant Landon Harris Eulogy
Bryant Landon Harris Eulogy
Current mood: calm
Bryant Landon Harris was born on a cold wintry day on January, the 11th 1985. I remembered it had snowed and my father walked into my Grandma's house to tell us, Krisha and Donovan that we had a little baby brother.
I, Donovan remember growing up with my little brother in Kayenta, AZ and Farmington, NM. One thing that will stay stuck in my mind is playing "cars" with him in the dirt. We would make little trails around our trailer in Kayenta. We built little homes and roads from the earth. Although few years went on and I was in Junior High School, he still would ask me to play "cars" with him. And yes, I did. (smiles)
I will cherish each moment with you Bryant. I will keep in mind that your favorite snack was sunflower seeds and Dr. Pepper, watching your favorite wrestler, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. That brought smiles to your face. Smiles so bright that your cheeks would lift up and close your eyes… Your bright straight teeth gleaming… How I adored your perfect straight teeth.
How do you say "bye" to your baby brother? I, Krisha find that it's not something easy to do. I know I will see you again in the Lord's house one day. This is so hard to deal with right now; I keep thinking you're going to walk through the front door at mom's house. I also know that with the love of God, we will get through this.
I used to baby sit you and Donovan when mom and dad were at work. I changed your diapers, feed you, and cleaned you up just like you did with Joshua. You would follow me around everywhere, when you were not already hanging out with the Uncles. You always hung out with the older men… You were so adorable! (smiles) I know you learned a lot from them. You were my "go to" guy if we needed something fixed, needed work on our vehicles, or if my children needed your assistance in assembling a toy.
I remember the time when we went to the Drag Races last February as it were yesterday. You had gone to the pits and were walking up and down the isles with Dad. When you had returned to Donovan and I, you had practically ran up to us. You were so happy with a great big smile on your face. You had small drips of sweat on your forehead from the sun beaming down on you. You had showed us your connecting rod, sighed by Frank Petragon, a Championship Funny Car Drag Racer. I remember you had mentioned that Frank had told you, "Now this is very special. Don't go putting this on E-Bay." And you didn't… You cherished it with all your heart. You held it to you closely because this was very valuable to you.
Bryant I will miss you but I will know that you're not far away. You are in my heart. You were always there for me. You helped me with my children. You were there to help them with their homework. You would be there giggling with them assisting them with their work. When weekends would come where Cordell & I had to work, you would watch them and take the kids swimming. The kids and you would come back sun burnt and hungry. They love you so much! They looked up to you.
You touched so many people Bryant. You were a very caring son, brother and uncle to all of us. Kelcie said that you always had a smile on your face no matter what kind of mood you were in. You welcomed people with open arms. You had a big heart and were very compassionate. You would always give Donovan "bear hugs." You would touch Donovan and I and say, "you're skin is so soft."
Lewis brought over a couple of pictures he took of you at their Christmas dinner. I keep looking at them and still can't get over this. It all came as a big shock to everybody. You were one of the kindest people I know. You made friends with just about everybody. You were, in a way, the neighborhood watch…(smiles.) Those of you who came to visit us, you'll understand why I say that. You became quite friendly with the people who moved in & out of our building.
After finding out the news the other day, Cordell & I headed back to the apartment. We could not bring ourselves to go inside; we had to wait for a while before we could go inside. Once we walked in, I went straight to your room, grabbed your blankets and just held on to it. I couldn't let go.
This is so hard to deal with right now; I keep thinking you're going to walk through the front door at mom's house. I still don't want to let go, but I know you're in heaven. You're in a better place; you have no worries and no pain. I know that that with the love of God, we will get through this. I will miss you baby brother and I will always love you. And so I say this to you, I will not say goodbye to you… I will say I will see you later.
I love you very much, Sister Krisha Lynn and Brother Donovan Meldon.

Bryant Landon Harris, We Will Miss You Dearly & Greatly
You Will Always Be In Our Hearts & Your Dreams Will Live On!
Born January 11, 1985 – Died December 29, 2007 – Age 22
Bryant Landon Harris was born in Monument Valley, Utah on January 11, 1985 and raised in Kayenta, Arizona and Farmington, New Mexico. He went to high school in Farmington, New Mexico. Bryant resided in Phoenix, Arizona with his sister and brother. His hobbies were going to the drag races with family, working on the computer, traveling, camping with family or the church, hunting, fishing, trades of any sort from welding to repairing automobiles and assembling any minor or major tasks. He liked to strike a conversation with anyone that crossed his path, as he did not hesitate to ask questions from young adults to the elderly. Bryant loved helping his mother and grandmother repairing their home or anything else that needed fixing around the home. He also enjoyed babysitting his nieces and nephews. He had a big heart to share with everyone from immediate family to relatives and friends that crossed his path. He loved to joke around with his brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles and aunts. Bryant was a fine young man and had lots of love for his family and relatives. Bryant was truly loved by his parents, siblings, grandmother, uncles and aunts and will be missed by all. We loved Bryant dearly to our hearts but we also understand that he is at a much better place in heaven where he went home to be with our Heavenly Father.
Bryant Harris is survived by his father, Donaldson Harris, of Black Mesa, Arizona and his mother, Marilyn Holiday, of Farmington, New Mexico; one older sister, Krisha Lynn Harris-Willie, of Phoenix, Arizona; and one older brother, Donovan Meldon Harris, of Phoenix, Arizona. There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3 at the Indian Bible Church in Flagstaff, AZ, 10 W. Cherry Ave. The reception will follow the interment at the Indian Bible Church. Norvel Owens Mortuary of Flagstaff is in charge of arrangements. 914 E. Route 66 Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
