1. I catch up on email and google reader.
2. I don't have a kitchen window :(
3. I don't believe in reincarnation.
4. They let their kids runamuck!
5. It depends!  Most of the time it's Diet.

Friday Photo Flashback - August 27, 2010

Here is a photo of me and my dog, Blackie.  I miss him.  He was such an awesome dog.  I got him from a community service officer the summer of 1993.  I was at work and one day this community service officer came into the office with a box of puppies.  She explained her dog had puppies and she couldn't keep all of them.

It was love at first sight.  I fell in LOVE with Blackie as soon as I seen him!  I wanted him but I knew my parents wouldn't allow it.  I told her I needed to get a hold of my parents to ask for permission, so she went through out the office to see if anyone wanted a puppy.

I was sad because I really wanted him but I knew my parents wouldn't allow me to have a dog.  About 30 minutes later, the officer came through our office and said she had one more male puppie if wanted it.   See what I didn't know was that she kept him for me.  She told everyone he was taken.  I couldn't pass him up so I took him even though I knew my parents wouldn't allow it.  I brought him home and my brother's fell in love with him, too.  We hid Blackie from my parents for about a week.  We bought him food, diapers and kept him in my room!  Yes, that's right diapers.  It's funny now and we laugh about it.

When my parents found out we had a puppy, my parents were not as upset as I thought they would be so that was all good :)

You know how I was helping my daughter with a school assignment last week???  Well I found this photo of my cousin, Vanessa.  We were so close growing up, she's practically my sister!  Well this photo was taken circa 1994.  We were attending college at NAU in Flagstaff, AZ.  I am in the blue on the left and my cousin is to the right.

1. No, I have not :(
2. Since I have never really traveled anywhere, far and abroad, I can't say I have.
3. My favorite season is winter in Arizona.
4. I can not think of just one song....and actually, nothing comes to mind!!!
5. The first character that came to mind was Mulan.

I was helping my daughter with a school assignment last week when I came across some photos I didn't know I had.  I found a  lot of photos of my late brother Bryant---when he was much younger.  I looked through them and they just brought back sooooo many memories!  I missed my brother but this time was a different feeling.  I felt at peace.  I think of him a lot!  I'm just so happy I came across those photos!  It was nice to show my kids their Uncle when he was much younger.  It was a nice trip down memory lane.  I'll share more.  I love the ones I found when he was a baby!

1. Not anymore.  I used to when I was in high school.
2. Clive Owen, Lorenz Tate and Patrick Dempsey.
3. Yes, I have several.  I have one on my left thigh.  I was with my cousin and we were riding my brother's bike on a bumpy dirt road.  We lost control and crashed.
4. I'm a pretty plain Jane when it comes to food.  I'm not one to try anything new...
5. No, I have never seen a tornado in real life.

Here are my answers:

1. I could eat Chipotle chicken or steak burrito bol!  Mmmmmm.....
2. No, I am not working in the career I thought I would be when I was 18.  When I was 18 I wanted to be a teacher to K-3 students.  I started working for an airline and have been here since.
3. I'm not sure how much younger you're referring to but I wish I had joined the military after graduating high school.  I think I would have been able to travel a lot more & been more independant.
4. My kitchen walls a plain white.
5. I can not remember what my very first favorite song was.  I do know that I was in love with New Kids On The Block---who wasn't.

Today's entry is a photo of me, my dad and my goat.  This photo was taken circa 1977.  We were at my Grandmother's house visiting.  From what my mother was telling me, she told me I was trying to "ride" the goat and broke his back.  I don't know what happend to the goat.

My Grandmother used to have sheep & goats and growing up we (brothers & cousins) used to heard sheep for her.  We would help my grandparents on the weekends and during the summer time.

Today's entry is a photo my clousin shared with me.  This is a photo of my late Grandmother (my dad's mother) & my late brother, Bry.  This photo was taken circa 1989.  We went to visit my Grandma one weekend.  I don't remember much of the visit but I love this photo.

Here are my answers:

1. What I miss most is being together with my family.  Since my parents are no longer married and my youngest brother passed away recently, I remember all the fun family vacations we took and that right there is the one thing I miss most.
2. I am still friends with some people from high school...not the ones I thought would always be there but a good few.  I wouldn't have it any other way.
3. My kids are always saying "OMG"  It drives me crazy but the funny thing is, I started saying it...
4. The one thing that I think symbolized America is UNITY.
5. We have no plans for the 4th of July.  We're just going to hang out and enjoy our family time.

Here are my answers:

1. I used to play a musical instrument....like back in high school. I played the alto sax throughout my freshman year.
2. I don't drive but my pet peeve while being a passenger is people NOT paying attention to the road.  Most of the time they are too busy talking on their cell or TEXTING!
3. I would love to have unlimited spa services.
4. I didn't go to school dances.  But there are several songs that will take me back in time.  I just have to go to Pandora and select a genre and most of the time Pandora hits the spot.
5. I can not think of a song that fits my life for the life of me!

1993

Today's entry is a photo my Aunt & cousins shared with me.  This is a photo of my late Grandmother (my dad's mother).  The photo was taken in Colorado Springs at the Airforce Academy on their drive to New Mexico.  I am so grateful they shared this photo with me.  Growing up, I was not close to my dad's side of the family so for them to share this photo meant so much to me.

Questions for Friday, December 4th:

1. Favorite gift you are GIVING this year?
2. How many parties are you attending between now and Christmas?
3. What is your favorite Christmas song?
4. Who was your favorite elementary school teacher and why?
5. If you had a choice to live in any other period of time (other than now) what era would you choose and why?

Here are my answers:

1. I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet!  I have no clue where to start!
2. I'll only be attending one party.  If my office has a potluck, does that count???  Other than that just the one party on my mom's side of the family.
3. My favorite Christmas song is "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" sung by my children.  The best part is when they emphasize the word "wish".
4. My 5th grade teacher, Mr. A was my favorite.  He always rewarded us when we had a good month & he always made learning fun.  He always seemed to turn what he was teaching into a game & interactive.
5. I always wanted live in the 70's era when I was in high school.  I haven't thought of it much since then.  I can't even remember why I wanted to live in that era now that I think of it.

1. I am not a Black Firday shopper. I just never got into it!
2. I can not recall my favorite childhood toy :( I do remember playing with Barbies with my cousins on my dad's side when we would go visit.

4. My "must have" item is a new digital camera!
5. I used to go all out with decorations and lately I haven't had the "energy" to go all out. So now I'm lucky if I even get the tree out to decorate!

Today I am sharing a photo taken at my old job in high school. My co-workers threw a pre-graduation party for me. I can't believe how time flies! Just last month my kids started their first day of school & I'm thinking of graduation! We still have a long way to go but I sure hope my kids enjoy every minute of their childhood.

Today I am sharing a photo of my girls when they were much younger.  Kelcie is 4, Keightlyn is 3 & Keirstin is 8 months.  Since this photo I've had Joshua, who was featured in my Wordful & Wordless Wednesday post.  I can't believe they are ALL in school now & my oldest is 13!  Yikes....my how time has flown by!
